Alton Eugene Cowin, 39 years old, of RR1, Cambridge City, died Saturday following an extended illness. He was a veteran of World War II, and served in the navy and see-bees. Mr. Cowin had been employed at the Straughn feed mill, at Straughn.
Survivors include the widow, Jessie; his mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Cowin of RR1 Milton; six daughters, Verna Jean, Carol Sue, Terry Mae, Connie Lou, Marsha Lynn and Candy Jo, all at home; three brothers, William Cowin of Connersville, Robert of Milton and Renos of Dublin; six sisters, Mrs. Letha Holmes of Shelbyville, Mrs. Frieda Flannery of Dublin, Mrs. Lorraine Howe of Lewisville, Mrs. Martha Cochran of Cambridge City and Mrs. Roberta Rummell and Miss Carol Sue Cowin both of Milton.
Services for Mr. Cowin were held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Fisher Mortuary, with Rev. Charles Cowin of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Converse, officiating.
